we do the 2-3-4 (which is more like 2-3-5) with great success most days at home. DC it's a crapshoot. from what i've learned from other moms who have older kids, they'll let you know when they're ready to drop a nap.
we do 2-3-4 (which sometimes is 2-3-3 or 2-3-5) and it's been working well for us. At daycare it's more like 3-3-4 or 3-3-5 (she doesn't nap as well there as she does at home) She sleeps 12 solid hours at night.
A's naps at daycare are also rarely longer than 45 minutes! I think they think I'm crazy when I talk about her 60-90 minute naps at home.
There have been days when she only takes one short nap there too...there's just so much more going on and with so much more noise, she just can't get into good sleep mode.
We have fallen into the 2-3-4 routine as well. He usually sleeps 11-12 hours at night (with 1-2 wake-ups). His naps are anywhere from 45 min to 2 hours. He is not at daycare so you would think his naps would be more consistent. Oh well
