I did something cool last weekend.

Last weekend we took a trip up to The Henry Ford Museum. I sat in the exact seat on the exact bus that Rosa Parks refused to give up. It was a little surreal to think about how different my life would be without the civil rights movement. As an interracial family, the whole experience hit very close to home.

We also got to see the chair that President Lincoln was sitting in when he was assassinated, car seats from the 1930s, and the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile. DS spent most of the time in our Boba carrier, but he loved it. He also loved swimming in the hotel pool.

That sounds really cool. I would love to go there, unfortunately, the thought of going to a museum or anything else "cultured" does not interest my husband so I have to go without him. Poo!

Tuna - Do you live near there!? We are about an hour from the Henry Ford Museum. We used to go every year for field trips, I have actually slept overnight twice in the museum (for Girl Scout trips as a kid). Now I haven't been in years and I've been itching to go. I have just been putting it off until I can go during the week and not have to fight any large crowds.

We are in Ohio, Amy. It wasn't very crowded at all. We went to the museum Saturday and Greenfield Village on Sunday. The museum was free on Sunday, but the weather was better that day so we decided to keep with our plans. I don't know how crowded it got, but GV wasn't very crowded either.

Case, I bet your husband would like it. There is a ton of stuff to look at. There has to be at least something he would enjoy!

That is awesome! I'm a nerdy history buff and I'm so jealous! My dream day would be to spend hours and hours in Washington and stroll around all of the museums.

Wow - That IS cool. I am getting the chills just thinking about sitting in Rosa Park's seat. I can't even begin to imagine how she must have felt that day.
