    I just answered a post about someone's DH not wanting them to go to a baby shower by herself because he's afraid he's missing out on a big party. No flames or snark that I saw, other than me saying that it's pretty needy of him to not be able to spend a few hours away from her.

    No, another shower she was invited to. Her shower is/was co-ed but I don't think her H gets that that's not the norm. I told her to have him google baby showers and see if that still sounds fun.

    Haha, same here... DH doesn't like being the center of attention at all, and would probably get uncomfortable around all those females!

    But apparently whether or not baby showers are co-ed varies regionally... I'm from the south where showers are always all-female, but have a friend from out west (NM) who is throwing a shower for me at work, and apparently to her it's weird for the dad-to-be to not attend the shower. She says at every baby shower she's ever been to, they are there for at least part of it. So we compromised and my DH is going to come to the very end of my work shower, which actually works out so that I don't have to lug gifts home on the metro!
