As many of you probably do, I've had to supplement my breast milk with extra calories. When I spoke to the dietitian, she was talking about boiling water to make formula, and then storing it in the fridge for up to 48 hours, if I ever do not have enough BM, or whatever.
So, what kind of water does this have to be....? From the sound of the packet she gave me it SOUNDS like it can just be boiled tap water up until he is 3 months old...It says:
"When no EBM is available, following manufactures mixing instructions behind the formula can provide 22 cal/oz. Use sterile water for the first 3 months of age. Water may be boiled up to 1 minute and stored in a sterile container in the fridge for up to 48 hours. After 3 months of age, baby water or bottled water can be used if the water has been purified via filter or reverse osmossis...."
Sooo....sounds like regular water that has been boiled, correct?
