I think I'm gonna be car shopping soon. It sucks because my car will be paid for in June. But it has an ignition issue where the key gets stuck & doesn't come out for a few minutes(lately HOURS) after you turn the car off(it stays in ACC mode, so battery is still being used).
It was "fixed" under warranty & has been doing the same thing, periodically, since LO was born. I have refused to pay out of pocket to have it fixed. It killed the battery a couple months back(the key stayed stuck in the car all night!). So, it just did the same thing last night. Now, I'm stuck at home while DH has the other vehicle(with LO's carseat) at work today. UGHHH, I was looking forward to no car payment, but this stupid car sucks. *stomps feet*

Ha, yep! Glad I'm not the only one ready to vent this morning.
I just saw your post. My brother & SIL are the same way. DH & I work hard to pay for things ourselves. It drives me nuts!

That does suck! Can you take it back and tell them that the problem wasn't fixed?
I wish. We took it back when the problem originally started after the "fix" & we were told them it was a "common issue for Saturn & GM vehicles" and will most likely continue to happen. Of course, my warranty has been long gone, so it's gonna be an out of pocket fix.
Needless to say, my next car WILL NOT be a GM or Saturn.

So, our Thanksgiving plans were more or less set - we were going to go to the IL's (who live about 3.5 hrs away). This was great for us. While originally DH and I had thought about doing Thanksgiving at our place, we realized that it was going to be a lot of stress (it would be ~10 adults) so when MIL offered to host, we thought "Great!" (Also, normally I prefer the ILs to come to our place for visits; I avoid going to visit them as much as possible - it's just a pain....so for once I was willing to travel to their place and I was glad for that.)
But......now SIL claims her H "has a lot going on" and it would be too hard to go over to the IL's (it would be a trip for them, too). Now, while it might be true that SIL's H has something going on then, I am tempted to call shennanigans b/c for like every weekend for the last month or so he has been off on some dude adventure (read: fun stuff). Couldn't he be taking care of whatever it is he needs to do now?? (In fairness, maybe he can't, but because this is a MMBF, I'm going to B about it anyway...)
And, because of other stuff going on with them, I feel that we are going to get pressured to host it. Or even if SIL hosts it, it's still going to be a pain. Or rather, I was just happy that we had a Thanksgiving plan and I was happy with it and now everyone's in hand wringing, trying not to offend anyone mode. Ugh.

I may sound really bad here but, OH WELL. we went to IL this weekend. While eating dinner my MIL gave us LO's birthday present. His bday is not until Nov 14 and we are having a fam party on the 24th of Nov. So does this mean she is not coming? This is what LO got, 3 mini books and a check for 35$. REALLY?!! I don't want to sound ungreatful but COME ON. This is their first grandson and FIL is a DOC! Oh and the books look like they came from the dollar store.
