We're already using a straw sippy for 2 out of 4 of DS's formula feedings. I plan on making his morning bottle a sippy next week(at 11 months). The night time bottle with be the last to go. I plan on taking it away after we make the milk switch.
The pedi said that we can switch to milk at 11.5 months at the earliest. So, whenever I run out of formula around that time, we will switch over.
We already completely replaced the bottle with sippy cups/straw cups. We phased it out by replacing one bottle each week over the course of several weeks, and it worked out great. We were planning introducing WCM this week but DS has a stomach bug We will probably wait until he 12 mo to make sure his GI tract is on track and we plan to do the same technique as we did with the sippy cup- replacing one formula feeding with WCM each week.
Formula is sooooo expensive!! I have one refill box left so I will use that up then I had Enfamil coupons so I bought two refill boxes of their Toddler formula. I figured that will last me unitl DS turns 1. By that time he will have his 1 year old check up and I can just verify with the doctor that we can switch him.
DS is not into sippy cups so we still have to work on that.
