We have a repeat C-section scheduled for Dec.28, however baby #1 was born early. I'm trying to be as organized as possible for Christmas and I'm going to start signing cards soon. I don't know how to sign the card: do I tack "and baby S" onto the end of our signatures (even though LO may not be born until after Christmas) or do I leave baby off this card completely?
What would you do? TIA! ![]()
Re: Christmas card wording?
I say go for it.
When I told the family about LO we knew that dob would be approx 12/23, so I told everyone that they would be getting an extra special x-mas gift this year.
What about doing a New Years card instead?
If that isn't your style, I think adding Baby S would be fine.
I like the idea of this... https://www.etsy.com/listing/107253023/custom-holiday-card-christmas-card-joy
and then adding something about your "bundle of joy"
just an idea...
DD2 isn't due until Dec 17th, so not really enough time to get a nice picture in the Christmas cards. We'll probably get a family portriat done with Santa again this year, and we'll just sign the card from the "Smith" family.
I'll be sending out birth announcements seperately once she makes her arrival.
Just what we are planning.
I always think it's kind of weird to write the baby's name before the baby is born. I might be an oddball though. I just think there is something..... tempting fate about it. I know that sounds awful and I don't mean to be morbid.
I would just say, "the xyz family" or if you must, "jack, susie, and soon-to-be baby xyz."
Ooooohhhh - I really like the "soon-to-be-baby xyz" - I think that's brilliant! That's definitely my vote.
Thanks everyone for sharing! I'll definitely mention baby in some way, and I love this bundle of joy idea!
