Hello ladies.
I?ve posted a few times but thought I would make a formal introduction as I?ve enjoyed reading others.
I am very excited to be part of this nice group of ladies. I?m 37 years old and this will be baby 2 for us. Our LO is due June 22. I?m an Architect and I live in Minneapolis (originally from Chicago ? my first city ?love?). Our first baby (Henry Oliver) was born on 4.8.11 so he?ll be just a few months past two when our little June Bug arrives.
My first pregnancy was filled with many issues and complications, the most serious was that I had a number of blood transfusions due to hemolytic anemia. I was planning on delivering in a birth center (au natural) but ended up at the University of Minnesota Hospital having a C section. Totally opposite but honestly ? it was amazing. I nursed my son while they were sewing me up and he has been healthy as a horse and is thriving. Thank goodness for modern medicine.
I?m going to be 38 when I deliver this baby (My birthday is June 5th ? June is such a great month!) and so with that and my past, I'm pretty high risk?.I feel so aware of this and I?m going to be tested for everything possible so I can prepare for any issues that this baby may have. I am going to really cherish this pregnancy as it?s most likely going to be our last.
I think it?s truly a miracle this little one is growing inside me as we got pregnant on the first try and it was a LONG SHOT. We stopped BD 6 days before ovulation. We thought we would experiment with shettles method for a girl since I have always had an inkling that I would be a ?boys mom? so I thought ?well I should just give a little girl a chance since I don?t think it?ll ever happen!!!? I also thought it would be fun to see how far before ovulation we could stop and still get pregnant. I had been charting on Fertility Friend since January and had my cycle down to a science.
Plan was that in September we would start BD after AF ended and stop 6 or 7 days from ovulation then each month get one day closer to the day of predicted ovulation. I thought it would take a few months before we got close enough to ovulation for things to work. Last week I was totally in shock. Now I?m just feeling so blessed and that I have a very determined little baby inside me that really wants to be here. BTW - I still think it's a boy ![]()
I?m team green and won?t find out until our little one arrives. I am just so thrilled to be in this group and ready for the wild ride of pregnancy and life with a newborn. Glad to meet you all.

Thank you everyone
Yes it probably appears that I really want a girl with all the trouble of shettles and so on, but it's really strange that I actually feel like I want a boy just as much (I think a younger brother for my 18 month old son would be better than anything!) I guess I really don't care one bit as long as it's healthy.
I am sure I don't make any sense at all but that is the beauty of being pregnant...don't have to.
