I posted this in 12-24, but thought you ladies might be going thru this as well!
Late this summer we started a massive clingy phase that we've yet to get out of. It hit at 20 months, right around the time big brother started full time school, and she started PTing - so I had to watch her like a hawk, and was by necessity around her a lot. But I'm wondering if i'm doing the right things, or if anyone had any suggestions of how to calm her clingyness a bit.
I'm a SAHM. We don't have extended family around, so no one to babysit, etc. But she knows several friends mums and grandmas pretty well, and is normally very friendly. At the moment I indulge her to a degree, if she wants cuddles, I give them. And if she wants to hold my trousers and be my shadow, I let her - unless it's not safe, like if I'm cooking dinner.I go to playgroups so she can socialise, and she used to be off and away at them, checkign in every so often, and be a very social illttle girl. (She still is, but wants to take me with her everywhere to play, say hello, etc.)
What do you think? How long do clingy phases last? How do you react and treat them?
