Can you explain what you meant below in the post where you said your home birth with #2 was a physiological birth, please?
I have tried to google to see what one might mean by that, but I can't find any information that tells me much...and I'm so intrigued!
Thanks much, in advance
Re: **JulyJennifer** re: physiological birth
Ditto. I see it as a synonym to natural birth, like how "biological breastfeeding" is a UK term for what we call on-demand feeding or cue-feeding in the US. Since some peopel refer to any vaginal birth as a natural birth (to avoid saying vaginal), physiological is alternative phrasing.

Hi. Yes, what they said. I think of it as normal birth, a physiological process without any interventions, medications, procedures, etc. To me, the term is more specific than "natural birth," which means different things to different people (same with "normal birth,") and is more succinct than "med-free, intervention-free birth."
This press release has a link to a document put out by the United States? three midwifery organizations. The document includes a definition of "normal physiologic birth," and why it's good for babies and mothers. That's what I'm thinking of.
