Today

12-4: What are your biggest fears of being a mom of 2 little ones under 2 years of age?

12-3: What will you do different with this pregnancy that you did not get to do with your first/previous pregnancy?

12-2: Clothing - Are you open to hand-me-downs,continsengy shops, etc? Will you be reusing DC#1's clothing for DC#2?
On a side note: Who can make us a 2U2 siggy or has an idea for one?

12-1: Day Care - How much are you/will you pay for day care for both DC? If you are a SAHM...what influenced your decision to stay home with your children.

Re: ~Moms of 2 Under 2 Daily Check In~

  • My biggest fear is that I will not get to clean my house ever again and that DH will get rid of the dogs. Unfortunately that is his idea of helping out around the house.

I also fear not dedicating enough time to each child but since that is a top priority I will do everything in my power not to let that fall by the way side.

I am sure it will be a challenge to find a baby sitter for both babies especially if I have to travel for work, unless of course DH finds a less demanding job.

  • My biggest fear of being a mom of 2U2 is that I won't pay enough attention to DC#1 once #2 arrives.  DH just took a job in a city about an hour away from where we currently live with the understanding that we would relocate closer after #2 is born.  I rely way too much on my family's help now.  I'm trying to grasp that I will be able to do it without so much assistance once we move.

  • Hi,

i just found out we are expecting #2! DH is freaking out. We go tomorrow to get ultrasound - good to know we're not alone :)

  • I love seeing our group grow and grow.
  • keeping my sanity.  life seems like it's too much now sometimes with the baby, house, jobs, cleaning, etc.  but we have fun and we make time for fun stuff.  i'm afraid with two i'll think it's too much of a hassle and just stay home all the time.  i'm sure it will be fine and everyone's told me one more really doesn't add much.  i just need to believe it :)
  • My biggest fear is getting through it when they are both sick, cranky, screaming their heads off and I don't feel good too. ?Now I can give DS to DH and say I need half an hour in the bedroom alone or whatever but I know it's going to be harder to not feel like we each need to take a child. ?I'm also scared of lack of sleep. ?DS is a year now and still doesn' t STTN. ?We did Ferber and it was ugly, 2 weeks we stuck with it until he got a cold and a tooth at the same time. ?He stopped waking up in the middle of the night to eat but now he wakes up at 5-5:30 and goes back to sleep for anywhere from an hour to 2 hours depending on what time he went to sleep. ?I just don't have the heart to make him cry when it's so close to morning.
  • 12-4:  At first, I felt like I was missing out on stuff.  I worry they'll end up resenting not having any real alone time with us as the baby.

12-3:  I'm hiring a doula this time.  The idea of giving birth again makes me want to hide.

12-2:  Cass wore all of Kate's clothes.  I think they've reached their limit though.  I'm hoping this one is a boy.  He'll get new clothes.

12-1:  I WAH and have a sitter who takes them about 10hrs a week, average.

  • Today was a disaster and I worry that there are going to be more days like today as the weather continues to get colder.  I wish we could just head out for a walk when things get tough but it is not realistic.  When #2 gets older and on a more predicatble schedule, I thinki it will be better but today I feel like I am going to lose my mind!

  • I am honestly not really worried. I know my house will be messier, we will have less time/money/sleep, and that sometimes they will drive me crazy, but I really think it is going to be awesome having 2 close in age. DS is getting to the age where he really likes other kids. I think having a sibling is one of the best gifts we can ever give him. I also think that it will make parenting easier in a way because they will have each other. I just hope I have the tools and luck for my children to be best friends.

  • Can you add me?

    DC#1 Girl - DC#2- TBD (14 months apart)

12-4 - being able to take care of both (if they are both crying at the same time)

12-3 - probably nothing- well enjoy not living in a 2nd floor apt!! no more stairs!

12-2 I'm open to hand me downs. if I can use DDs clothes I will.

12-1 my mom watches dd and I hope to stay home after #2. I miss dd so much during the day and my mom has a way of "rubbing" in that she saw DD do something first. rude if you ask me...

  • What are your biggest fears of being a mom of 2 little ones under 2 years of age?

I think I'm worried about devoting enough time to each child. I think that with the way we do things now, and with a really involved husband, that we'll be okay, but I plan to really watch "individual" time.

What will you do different with this pregnancy that you did not get to do with your first/previous pregnancy?

    Fight to not have pitocin.

Clothing - Are you open to hand-me-downs,continsengy shops, etc? Will you be reusing DC#1's clothing for DC#2?

If this one is a girl, we will for sure be using her clothes. If not, we do have a lot of gender neutral clothes that will get passed on.
