Nursing moms- if you are an E cup +

Where are you getting your bras at? I'm looking for new ones since my boobs are falling out of all the ones I have (had this problem after I had DS1 also, but never took care of it...) The 38E cup I bought at Motherhood just isn't cutting it and I'm not finding an F there that works either.

Any good finds?!

  • Bravado.  I'm a 40E right now and bravado has always been my favorite. Super supportive.

  • I'm a 34H...Anita bras at Nordys are the best!!! Worth every penny to have such great support, and I'm wearing my nursing bras from last time because they are in such great shape still. I also ordered a Panache because I love their normal bras, my nursing bra should be here in the next few
days. It's hard to find a cute 34H.

I had trouble with Bravado bras when I got them before. The snaps kept randomly coming undone! It made me really stabby. Is there a certain type you get?

  • I was a 36G during pregnancy and I'm sure it is only worse now. I got my pregnancy bras at Nordstrom - unfortunately they had underwire so I don't wear them now. I basically have been living in nursing tanks from Target and occasionally my Bravado bras. I actually find the clasps on my Bravado annoying so I don't wear them very often.

Why don't you wear underwire?  FWIW, all of my nursing bras have underwire and I've never had any problems.

underwire can poke you, especially with big chests and its known to cause clogged ducts.

I have the Bravado Bliss, which I think is what Queenie has as well (not to sound super stalkery!).  Obviously I'm still waiting on my LO, but I've been wearing them for a while because I went up 4 cup sizes so I had to buy new bras and all I could find was nursing bras.  They're really supportive, especially considering there's no underwire.

lol, yes, the Bliss is my favorite but I also like the Body Silk.

  • The underwire hurts my boobs. Hopefully it will improve in the future.

I didn't know Nordstrom sold nursing bras... the one near me doesn't have a maternity section so it didn't occur to me that they might have nursing bras.

  • You have to ask at Nordys and they'll bring them out from the back! And fwiw, I never had any problems with underwire. Sounds like an old wives tale to me.

  • I am not sure of the brand of my bras but I don't wear underwire in my nursing bras because it's not as comfy for ds when we snuggle.

  • A lot of companies will do mail order for you... I ordered a bunch of Bravado nursing bras and tanks through the mail because I couldn't get the larger sizes locally... although with the current engorgement issues, I have been just wearing regular tanks because I'm exploding Hulk style out of my bras and tanks. Hoping the supply stabilizes and normalizes soon.

Does Motherhood sell large sizes? I feel like it will be my only option locally.

    I don't think Motherhood goes bigger than a 40F.

    Bummer.

  • Ditto Bravado bras.  They sell one style at Buy Buy Baby (not my favorite style for big boobs) and also carry them at the specialty maternity shops around me - the higher-end ones.  All of the bras run about $50, but they are well worth it.

  • I am actually using the adjustable back (racer or regular) sports bras by Champion, from Target.  They have a deep V neck which is easy to pop down during nursing, and while the band is tight, the cups are loose enough not to cut off my milk supply.
