When is trick or treating for your 'hood?
When we were kids it was always on Halloween, regardless of what day of the week it fell on. I've come to find out that is not the case everywhere. We moved in June, so I don't know what the protocol is for this new neighborhood. It kind of seems like the kind that would move it to a weekend night. I should probably figure it out soon.

What? I have never heard of rescheduling Halloween. If people came to my door not on Halloween and asked for candy, I would be really confused.
We trick or treat on Halloween, even during blizzards. We're like the post office.
Our town cancelled it last year because of the same snowstorm. It was too dangerous with all the power outages, downed trees, and downed power lines. A few hundred thousand were without power for a week due to that storm..
That makes sense, it just doesn't happen where I live or grew up (MN and CO). Snow is failry common on Halloween, but it doesn't knock down power lines or anything. I can see why kids shouldn't walk around in the dark with power lines down...I would still get confused on the rescheduled day.
I actually don't know because we just moved too. I assumed it was always on Halloween night.
I guess I better find out....I decided we need to give out candy, even though it is a pain with the dogs, we'll just turn the lights out when LO goes to bed, which is usually about 8, so that is late enough anyway.
I'm surprised how many are actually on Halloween! This is the first year my city is doing it on Halloween, it's been the Sunday closest to Halloween for as long as I can remember.
And it's night ToTing! Fun!
This was an unusual storm for us in New England. Trees were falling all over the place. You could hear then cracking and snapping and the power transformers exploding around neighborhoods.
I have spent my whole life in New England and we always went out even in the snow on Halloween. It was more a safety issue last year.
