Sweet SO, but...

I've had a persistent cough for the last couple months my GP and OB have seen me and have agreed that the meds that I need to make it go away for good aren't alright for baby, and to basically treat the symptoms until she arrives. For whatever reason, this weekend has been worse and SO offered to go out for more meds for me. So, I wrote down Tylenol and Sudafed both on OB's safe list, and he ran out.

Like an hour later, he comes home... He went to Walmart first, but couldn't find Tylenol. Thinking it was just him, he went to CVS Still no Tylenol, and their Sudafed was mostly behind the counter. So, he then goes to Walgreens They still have a pharmacist there despite the late hour. They explained Tylenol brand was recalled, but that you can get Walgreens brand and it's the same great, he gets that. Then asks about Sudafed and which kind is best. Bless her heart for trying, but she said that she wouldn't recommend it for anyone pregnant and to get Benadryl. He didn't know and had forgotten his phone, so he decides against that.

He explains this whole story to me, then pulls out a carton on ice cream and tells me that ice cream WILL help. I couldn't do anything but laugh and hug him. :

  • Haha, aww. Hope you feel better soon! Try honey in warm water too. I never take medicine for a cough, and this has always helped me!

  • That is sweet of him; DH has had the same problem with Tylenol ... it has been like that for about 2 years. We dearly miss their Rolaids which were recalled and seem to no longer be made.

If the cough is as simple as a constant throat tickle, which it does not sound like, drinking warmed water or carbonated water helps me.

  • He is so sweet!  We also encounter the same problem about Tylenol in our area.  Instead of everyone said it"s been recalled, DH told me that their patent has been expired and no store (at least in our area) carries the brand anymore.

Like PP said, honey helps respiratory issues.  If for GERD, carbonate soda like 7up, small meals, and lots of liquids help.  Hope you get well soon!
