Carrier recommendation for 2mo who thinks it's tummy time

LO is 2 months old and thinks it's tummy time every time I try to put her in our Moby or our Beco Gemini. She keeps trying to lift her head from my chest and scoot her legs against my stomach and she grunts while doing this, so it's obviously costing her some energy and effort. She doesn't have anywhere near enough neck control to face outward, and she's relatively petite (22 in., 9 lb. 11 oz.).

I would really love to be able to wear her; any recommendations for other carriers or solutions for her tummy time moves?

  • Does she have enough neck control for a forward facing carry in the gemini (for short periods of time)?

ETA - nevermind. I should have read your whole post before responding.  I would just keep trying. DD didnt like the carrrier until 3 months.

  • I don't know if a different carrier will solve your problem. It sounds more like a phase to me that your LO is going through.

  • you may just have to wait a couple weeks for some head control... my dd grew so quickly that she was so tall in the carrier with her legs in (which truly was the only option IMO for her until almost 4 months) I wasn't able to use it for about 6 weeks... she may just grow out of this phase too

  • I just tried it, and she's about an inch too short to see over the top. She had to tilt her chin up to see out of it. :(

  • I don't think a different carrier is going to make much of a difference and it's not recommended anymore to face outwards either.
