I'm not sure if I've ever seen this on here, but soft soled shoes for infants seems to be an AP thing so I'll ask. I've been using socks, slippers, and now Skidders with my son who is now 15 months. How long have you all used soft soles shoes with your kids? Is there an age or developmental thing for it?
I know that they make five finger shoes for kindergarteners because I had a kid last year in class who had the so I guess it could go on indefinitely? Just wondering what the norm is.
Re: Soft soled shoes for infants
My older son went to PT when he was younger, and his PT said to make sure they have very flexible-soled shoes until they can walk really well. If you can fold the shoe in half, the sole is flexible enough.
I found these shoes for my younger son when he was an early walker, and they're great. They're Robeez, but have a plastic sole, so they hold up better:

My kids primarily wear sneakers after about 18-24 months. hth!
DS2 - Oct 2010 (my VBAC baby!)
DS is always barefoot at home, but with the weather getting cooler we just bought him these for going out:

Hmmm...can't make it clicky. They're stage 2 stride rite's...he's cruising and wanting to walk on his own, but hasn't taken his first step yet!
