blending solids with formula

This might be a dumb question, but should I be blending my homemade baby food with only water?  I made some sweet potatoes the other day and blended them up with formula.  Only later did I think about how you aren't supposed to keep formula over 24 hours.  If I make a few jars and keep them in the fridge for a day or two, is this bad?

    DS is just getting started on solids.  He's had oatmeal, bananas, and sweet potatoes.  I mash my own bananas, but so far have used jarred sweet potatoes (I plan on making my own once I make sure he likes and isn't allergic to certain foods).  Anyway, I mix up a 4-6 oz bottle first, then use however many tablespoons out of the bottle to mix his cereal.  With the mashed bananas, I mixed in formula, too.  I didn't mix the sweet potatoes with formula because the jarred stuff is pretty thin.  When I do make my own, I will mix with water, then add formula after everything is pureed (with water).  I wouldn't puree with formula.

    I dont fee LO solids yet but my friends does it with her DD. She steams the food using a steamer basket and then uses the liquid below the basket to loosen the food a little. Its good because it give back some of the nutrients that are lost when veggies cook.
