Anybody have a good way to make a lot of sliders? And what do you use for buns? We're having a "glamping" party for DD's birthday in the Spring, so one of the foods I came up with was sliders...because everything tiny is cute to 9yr olds. BUT, I have never found a good way to make a lot and still have them be good. I don't want to do them at the very last minute either if I can help it.
Re: Sliders for a crowd {of 9 year olds...}
You will have to play with the jar size it a bit, but I use an old peanut butter jar lid (the thick plastic kind), and some saran wrap. You place a piece of saran wrap on top of the jar lid, put the burger in, and press it in (I sometimes use a glass to get even pressure, sometimes I just use my hand). Then I pop the whole thing out and wrap it. You can do it a day or so in advance, and then you just have to unwrap and grill when you are ready.

I once made a recipe for a party that had you season the beef and then flatten it down thin into a 9x13 baking dish, bake in the oven, then cut to size and put it on the bun. I remember them being pretty tasty, but I can't remember the exact recipe I used. I *think* it might have been from allrecipes. It was definitely easy and yielded a good result. I would imagine you could double it and make it on a big sheet pan too if you needed more burgers.
GL!

I have no idea...just started thinking today. The party isn't until May {I know...I'm THAT kind of planner/dreamer} so I'm being a nut starting this early. I may use a local caterer that is very reasonable. If I do, I'm thinking sliders or grilled chicken bites, mini pizzas, maybe mac and cheese bites. Tiny food is so cute to 9 yr old girls!
I saw this earlier. It's to make a White Castle burger? You put it over dehydrated onions and bake? Looked yummy!
Oh and we'll be having s'mores for sure. DD LOVES to make s'mores and we're getting a new firepit this week. It'll be a little hot, but oh well.
It's actually a combo Troop Beverly Hills/"Glamping"/Outdoor movie party...so far.
Oh yes! I showed it to DD the other week and now she is as obsessed as I was!
Yes! I think that was the one. It turned out really well if I remember correctly and way easier than trying to deal with a large number of small patties.
