anyone on WW and using Active Link?

Morning Ladies, I was talking with some gals at work and they were talking about how they just got Active Link for Weight Watchers. I have been doing online WW for a couple of months and really like it.  Because I'm doing the online program I must have missed this Active Link business. It's a chip you wear all day that tracks your activity.  I am interested in it, but it's 40 dollars for the chip + 5 dollars extra per month.

My question: Is anyone using the Active Link and think it's worth the cost? Is it easy to use, and inconspicuous as you wear it?

Thanks!

Re: anyone on WW and using Active Link?

  • I use active link and it is motivating to be able to check my link at any time and see how close I am to my movement goal for the day. It has lights on it that tell you if what percentage of your goal you have hit (you may have your goal be burning 4 points a day or whatever). It motivates me not to just workout but to take the stairs or ask my kiddo to have a dance party with me or whatever because I know it will push me to my goal. It's a nice motivational tool. Also it automatically adds your points to your account.

  • Btw it is waterproof so you cans swim with it. Which is lucky since I gently learned that putting it thru the washing machine and dryer will get me 75% to my goal.

  • I'm a month in on WW and don't plan to get Active Link. I use a Polar Heart Rate Monitor when I workout and from what I've gathered on the WW boards, for every 80 cals you burn = 1AP. I burn about 500-600 cals per workout (3x a week) so I'm getting 5-7 points per workout.

I also don't really agree that people should be getting AP for what they do day to day. IMO.
