Favorite Frivolous Baby Item Purchase

I was feeding my son in the glider in his room this morning and I realized how much I LOVE this little pillow that I bought mainly as decor for his room but that has turned out to be so useful (it's perfect for propping up my arm to hold him while feeding him).  I think I spent $40 on this pillow to have it personalized with a print of a Lab and our dog's name and a cute saying about our dog.  I knew at the time it was a splurge on what I thought would be something that we just look at it and who knew it would get such great use!

Anyway, got me wondering what others might have splurged on that some might call frivolous? And, was it truly frivilous but you love it anyway, or does it actually have a good use?

  • I bought a Three Sprouts canvas storage bin with a bear applique. I use it in the nursery for dirty laundry. A cheap laundry hamper would have worked just as well, but I smile every time I look at the bear bin.

  • We haven't started the nursery yet, but there are a few things that I want that I know they are frivolous, I want something from Jonathon Adler, something like this bank or something purely decorative like these bookend:

I also like to have one of these in the nursery, this one is purely frivolous:

  • I didn't purchase it, it was a gift from a friend and I was amazed that My LO loves it.  The giraffe Sophie.  When I got it in the mail I said to myself "what is she going to do with this, maybe it's for decoration"...then I read a brief post about it her on the bump.  Opened it up gave it to her and she LOVES IT.  I can't leave the house without it.  It keeps her calm in the carseat :)  But 23.95 for that giraffe?!  I was shocked.
  • I love blankets, and bought DD a couple from myblankeeinc.com......the prices are rediculious, but they are the nicest blankets I have ever seen.

So funny! I had a pillow custom made for the glider in DD's room. My husband thought it was ridiculous, but the glider really needed something and I couldn't find anything that matched her room.  It's a small rectangular pillow that I thought would just be for pretty, but I ended up using it to prop my arm on at every feeding. I stopped BF'ing about a month and a half ago, but I loved BF'ing DD in the glider with that pillow!

I bought one of these, too! I have the owl for the large storage bin. I also got a storage caddy with the beaver on it and I just love it. https://www.amazon.com/3-Sprouts-Storage-Caddy-Orange/dp/B006Y7OYQO/ref=br_it_dp_o_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=JCDOXNR4QM15&coliid=I3XLPASUDOG7S They were expensive, but they look so cute in the nursery.
