Toddlers: 24 Months+

If you have pub height dining/kitchen chairs, come in

Looking ahead, I'm wondering how DS can sit at the table with us, especially if/ when our family grows again.  I would want to avoid having 2 high chairs if possible.

Has anyone used the FP Space Saver high chair on a pub height kitchen chair with a squirmy toddler?  Our chairs have a cushioned seat as well...

Any better suggestions?

  • My sister's crazy DD is 18 months and she uses the Space Saver on their bar high chairs.  She has very heavy mission style chairs though and they do not move.

Have you looked into the FP Healthy Care seat?  That may be a good option for him.  It is a good booster with easy to use straps.

  • we never used a high chair- all my friends used and suggested the fisher price chair- its like 24.99- it was the best investment ever.  We attached it to the pub chair and our daughter ate in that from 6 months to about 23 months when she no longer wanted to sit in it with the tray.  We simply removed the tray and pushed her up against the breakfast bar.  She loves it!  I sit right next to her since she wont let me strap her in and she'll tell me when she wants down- she is squirmy too- but I am always right there next to her.

    she is now 24 months.

  • Our chairs also have padded seats.  We used the FP space saver with the tray near, but not at the table when LO was a baby, and as he grew we moved him into the table.  The way the tray arms come out from the chair made it difficult for us to get him upto the table without the tray, so we switched to a booster seat that he could be buckled into.  He is almost big enough now to sit in the chair without the booster.

    Hope this helps!

  • We just use a booster and stap him in and push him up to the table.

This for us as well, minus the padded seats.  The booster seat worked out better for us in the long run, and now DD is tall enough to just sit in the chair.

  • We don't have a counter height table but we do sit at our island a lot, which is counter height.  We didn't use any type of high chair.  When he was able to get out of the high chair, we just let him sit at the bar stool.  He only fell off once :)

I would definitely use the space saver high chair on a pub height table... seems like a good solution!
