almost 3 and still wont poop

in Toddlers: 24 Months+
my dd is almost 3 in november and still has no interest pooping in the potty. what can i try to help her. shes dry all day in underwear but she poops during nap in a pull up. i know before she was constipated but since its not been as bad. do i just need to wait until she is ready or try another trick?

    My daughter will be 4 in April and still has accidents and will not always go poop in the toilet. It's kind of a downer but I have accepted it. Sometimes as parents you just need to stop with certain expectations and just relax. And not beat yourself up if things don't go your way. That doesn't mean stop trying all together but just understand she is going by her own time line.

    We are in the same boat! My DD is 3.5 and she will either hold it till I put her bedtime pull up on or ask for one. One time she put one on herself! She has pooped on the potty a few times but just will not do it even though I bribe her with all kinds of toys. She wears underwear all day otherwise and does fine peeing but just having poop issues. My pedi said his granddaughter wasn't fully trained till 4.5!

    I would love advice about this, too! DD is 3 and uses the potty for peeing but won't poop in it. 

    She wears underwear all day and at naps/night.  No problems at night - stays dry.  I just don't know what to do to encourage her to use the potty for pooping.  (Have tried incentives...not working.)

    Can you ditch the pull up at nap?  If she poops, have her clean it up.  I had the same issue with DS, and once he had to clean it, he thought it was gross and started using the toilet.  DS also gets very constipated.  We give him an activia yogurt everyday and he is very regular now.

    Are you giving her privacy when you have her go in the potty to poop?  DS always pooped at the same time so every day I would sit him on the potty and have him try for a bit.  I was in there with him.  One day I was busy with DS2 and had to leave him alone.  He did it.  The next day he told me he liked to poop with the door closed.  Can't say I blame him.  I do too:)

    When we went though all this asked the pedi for help.   She told us to tell  him that we didn't care if he pooped in a pull up, but to ask for one.  Then told him to poop in his pull up in the bathroom so at least he was in the right room.

    We have the same issue.  Incentives/bribes do nothing.  We are just going to keep asking daily and hope it clicks soon.
