Family vent.

I just need to get this out, sorry it may be long.

We are visiting my in-laws this weekend. Last night we traveled two hours to see DH's cousin play football. Some of my FIL's family lives in the town where the game was played so we went to see one his aunts before the game and my FIL had also mentioned going to see his brother. Well, DH had mentioned if we were going we needed to before the game, but nothing was said. So we go to the game and around the third quarter DD started getting cranky because it was her bedtime. DH and I go to the car ahead of my IL's so I can nurse DD in hopes that she would fall asleep faster in the car. I nurse her until she's just about to sleep and we get on the road. It's after 9 at this point and we are headed home (or so I thought). FIL drives us to his brother's house and says we will only stay for a little while. DD was asleep and I was like no. MIL just looks at me and DH was like really? FIL gets out and when the lights in the car come on, DD wakes up. He says she's awake. I was so mad. DD fights sleep and even worse in the car. We only stayed for about 15 minutes, but DD screamed and cried for about 45 minutes (in e car) until she fell asleep again. My FIL sat in the front seat while I was in the back trying to comfort my child, and him making suggestions on what's wrong with her. I was so close to saying, she's f'n tired and she was woke up. Ugh. So this morning, my DH told his mom that we should have just went to see his uncle before the game and she agreed. At breakfast she told my FIL the same thing about going before the game instead of after. He said "why?". Drives me so crazy. He doesn't see anything past his own needs and wants. 

We also found out that my IL's won't come down for Christmas because my FIL says it's time for us to start our own family tradition. Honestly, I love how we celebrated last year because all of DD's grandparents were together. I think he's full of crap and just doesn't want to take off work and drive down to see us and make us come up instead.

Sorry for the novel. I'm just really annoyed with my FIL's shenanigans and the fact that NO ONE stands up to him.  I am actually hiding out in the bathroom typing this lol.
