Seriously. With all of the "don't do thats" out there, I sometimes have to wonder how I ever got to be an adult. My mom gave us rice cereal in our bottles, and gave us water sometimes. She said that's what they were told to do by the doctor. Now we aren't supposed to do that. So... I have to wonder how we ever made it. I also wonder what it is we're doing that our children will be talking about with other new moms when they have babies.
Re: Do you ever wonder how we all survived?
i slept on my belly, was never even offered BM, watched sesame street starting at 4 months, etc, etc.
it's a wonder i'm able to hold down not one, but two jobs, plus be a mommy!
MamaPhan|boy (n): a noise with dirt on it
Sure, we survived.
But I bet the kids/babies who didn't make it would disagree with you.
I'm sure as new discoveries and studies are done, some of the things we do now will be "no-no's" when our kids are parents.
yes! we all belly slept, got rice cereal in our bottles at 2 months, were FF (gasp) and had water in between feedings...how my brothers and I survived is beyond me...LOL
DH was left to CIO as a newborn and cry when he was hungry "because it wasn't time to eat"...NICE
My poor mom thinks were all a bunch of paranoid freaks.?
We slept in our crib, on our belly, with blankets and our favorite toys.
Her Dr. told her to have a cocktail from time to time and *gasp* my mom smoked WHILE she was pregnant and afterwards. (She has since quit by the way)
So, I do sometimes wonder how we did survive.?
