Hi all! I just found out yesterday that I am pregnant. I have been charting for months and had a pretty good idea that I might be last week but I waited until 16 days post ovulation and yesterday got a positive pregnancy test! My husband and I have been married since 2010 and our babies due date as of now is our 3 year wedding anniversary. We are currently expats living in Beijing, China but we will be returning to Atlanta in December and I will be staying. Unfortunately, my husband is on a 3 year contract in China and we get a very large bonus (cost of all prenatal care + delivery x3!) if he stays until next December. So at this point the plan is for him to come home in late May, spend my last month with me and hopefully the subsequent 1-2 months with our new family

A lot of changes are about to happen but we are both so happy that I am pregnant!
Re: First time mom due in late June
Thanks for reaching out! How do you like living in Wuxi? Yeah, we would consider me staying here longer if it weren't for the air here. It is so bad during the winter and even before now I have never reacted well to it. Add to that that I really want a natural birth and China is not the right place to have the baby. They have state of the art hospitals here but they are very pro medical intervention, just like most hospitals in the states and having babies at home is not legal...so back I go.
It looks like you are pretty early days in pregnancy as well! When did you find out?

I found out at 4 weeks when I was already feeling sick, about 2 weeks ago now. The morning sickness is progressively getting worse though. My EDD is June 16th.
The air quality here isn't as bad as some areas like Beijing/Tianjin, and Chengdu. I used to live in Chengdu, and it's much worse there. I love the blue skies of Wuxi. I know of 3 expat ladies here who've just given birth, and a couple more who gave birth last year. They've all had good experience at this one particular hospital in Wuxi, and so I'll be going there. It's a Chinese hospital with a VIP section for pregnant expats. I'll go for a check up November 5th to see what it's like. It's just comforting to know other mom's have delivered there and have felt comfortable there.
