Quinny Zapp/Maxi Cosi Perle/Chicco Liteway?

Who has a Quinny Zapp, and either likes it or doesn't like it? We're going to have to get an actual stroller soon, and this is the one I'm leaning towards.

We wear DS about 80% of the time, and up till now have been keeping a Snap n Go in the car to use in the mall, running into Walmart or the grocery store for a quick errand, etc. But I think he wants to look around more. We'd be using the new stroller for the same purpose, and possibly the occasional outing on suburban sidewalks this summer when he's bigger. DH and I both hate big, bulky strollers and want something very small and light that will fold up compactly so we can just keep it in the trunk of our car.

ETA: Also looking at the Chicco Liteway or Maxi Cosi Perle, anyone have anything to say about them?

Re: Quinny Zapp/Maxi Cosi Perle/Chicco Liteway?

  • Had it, hated it. The only thing I actually liked about it was that it folded small, since with all the crud we bring, not much room in the mini van. I sold it and got the Phil and Ted's Smart Buggy. Love it, especially the canopy and the basket in comparison. It doesnt quite fold the way the Zapp does, but it is super flat and works. I can fit it in our Mini Cooper, so that's a bonus.

Other strollers we considered were the Versa and the Cruz, neither had been released when we bought it though. I also wanted the Mamas and Papas Sola, but at the time dh wanted to keep our "big stroller", so I didn't have that available to sell to meet our budget, or I would have had it. It's pretty compact as well.

  • Can I ask what you hated about it?

We're also thinking about the Chicco Liteway or the Maxi Cosi Perle...anyone have experience with one of those?

  • Have the zapp and love it. I was very limited on trunk space, so it was very appealing. We've used it since DD was born as a travel system with the Mico car seat and now as just a stroller. It is our everyday stroller and is very maneuverable. I also have a city mini which a lot of people reccomend as a "lightweight" stroller and I like the zapp way better than the city mini for everyday errands. I added hooks onto the zapp right above the fold point so I could hang the diaper bag too. I would say the only downside of the zapp is that it is awkward to carry when it's folded it doesn't have a lock.
  • I love my Chicco Liteway!  It's so easy to fold up and carry especially with airport travel.  The handles are a good height for my 6'2" husband and me (5'1") and there is a cup holder and and good sized underneath basket.  I also love that it reclines pretty flat.  I got that turquoise color and love that it is a good gender neutral color for future kiddos.
