Item to sleep in bed with us with incline?

DD is just over a week old now.  We have the rock n play for her to sleep in and it sits beside my bed.  But, I feel like every single time she makes a noise, I'm worried she is spitting up (she does that sometimes) and I have to get up to check on her.  A week after a c-section, I'm moving better than I ever thought I would be, but the constant up and down is getting to me.

So, last night we slept with the nap nanny in between DH & I.  Even with a king size bed, we were pretty squished.  But, I loved having her there next to me.  Is there something that may take up less space that we can use in our bed that also provides a bit of an incline for her to sleep in?

TIA

  • This doesn't answer your question but can you not reach her from your bed? Is the rNp right beside you? Could you put it on your husbands side for him to check/ help out? As she gets older you will have to be less alert but it is hard to sleep at first I slept in my glasses practically staring at my son. Good luck!

It is next to the bed, but sits at the wall instead of touching the bed because I wouldn't be able to get in/out of bed otherwise.  There is a very small amount of space on my side of the bed before the wall.  Regardless, it's a lot shorter than the bed and I would have to sit up/get up to check on her anyway and I can't really see her face unless I turn the light on.  DH has to go back to work on Monday, so I'd rather be the one checking on her in the middle of the night as much as possible.

  • We tried a couple of different things but they were also big. We took them back. I bought "magic bumpers" on amazon and wished I'd found them sooner. DS slept between me and the bumper, not in the middle of the bed. If you do decide to bed share, do not put LO between you and DH. It isn't safe. The bumper I mentioned doesn't really help you with the incline issue, though. Good luck!

  • Have you tried the snuggle nest? It is fairly compact and has a night light built in it to check on the baby. I dont know if it has an incline.

  • I bedshared and had DD's head resting on my arm so that she was at an incline. It worked really well for us and we all slept so much better.
