Don't hate me but...

After hearing so much about morning sickness and all the unpleasantness of early pregnancy, I haven't had any yet! I'm totally ok with this fact as far as how I feel, but I occasionally get nervous that something's wrong (and even more nervous that it will start!). I keep hearing that morning sickness is a sign of healthy pregnancy, and I won't have my first OB appt for another 4 weeks because I'm on military health care and they don't schedule anything early.

I'm 8 weeks so far... anyone else NOT having morning sickness? Should I be worried or just thank my lucky stars and pray nothing starts?

Re: Don't hate me but...

  • Good to know, thanks. And so sorry yours is bad! I hope you feel better. My mom told me in the past that hers wasn't too bad but I do know she had it. We aren't telling our parents until Thanksgiving, though, so can't ask her for a refresher. :-/

  • Don't worry about it too much - everyone is different. My mom had ZERO m/s with either pregnancy, but my sister had AWFUL m/s with both of hers. Mine was pretty bad until recently. I think it just depends on how your body is reacting to the change in hormones! Enjoy it!!!
  • Again, thanks for the reassurance. I thought at first that maybe it was too early, but as time went on, still nothing. I keep having to remind myself that I'm pregnant! I did spend one day on the couch because the room wouldn't stop spinning, and had a couple shorter dizzy spells, but that seemed to be the extent of it.

  • I dont have any either. I get a little nauseus when I brush my teeth but thats about it. Ive seen my doctor and he doesnt seem worried about it, he just thinks im lucky.

  • I'm 10w3d and I've yet to have any sickness. I'm just tired and that's it. I'm so thankful but also slightly worried. But I've had 2 appointments and everything is great and healthy
  • I posted almost the exact same thing a few days ago. It was reassuring to hear that not every pregnant woman gets m/s, and that it's not necessarily a big concern if you don't have it.

  • I have yet to have morning sickness and I'm in my 11th week. My boobs stopped hurting around 910 weeks and I haven't had any crazy cravings or food adversions after about 8 weeks. I wouldn't worry to much about no symptoms I just had an ultra sound on Tuesday and my baby is actually measuring a few days ahead of schedule now! So clearly lack of symptoms doesn't mean an unhealthy pregnancy : GL and enjoy your symptom free pregnancy!

  • Every pregnancy is different.  With my first, I had some morning sickness, but with my second, I had none - just some food aversions.  Now with this pregnancy, I am feel nauseous throughout the day.

  • Im almost 11 weeks and have not had any morning sickness. Maybe a couple waves of nausea, but those could be completely unrelated to pregnancy too. Be happy. Ive been to the MD once and things were fine, and I go back early next week. Fingers crossed for the m/s to stay at bay.

  • I am almost 11 weeks and I have not had any morning sickness! I have had some food aversions and a little bit of nausea but as I entered week 10 those seemed to subside. I was worried the first few weeks that something must be wrong because I wasn't sick. Now I am pretty sure we are some of the lucky ones!

  • I'm in my 8th week and have not had any morning sickness.  I had a stomach bug a week ago.   Initially I thought it was morning sickness starting but quickly realized that it was not.  After puking every 10- 20 minutes for several hours I felt so grateful that I have not had morning sickness!  One day of that was plenty! But I do know what you mean- sometimes not having it makes me a little nervous.

  • I get waves of nausea here and there but I wouldn't say I have all out morning sickness. With DD it was SO BAD so I am choosing to be thankful I don't experience it too much this time around!

  • Mine hit at 8 weeks but I wouldn't call it bad compared to the stories I heard from my not-so-lucky friends. Mostly I just feel queasy, kind of like motion sickness) and it would only happen in the morning or evenings (mostly evenings though). There was ONE day that I actually did throw up, and unfortunately it was less than ten minutes after taking my prenatal vitamin. After that it was all dry-heaving though. I thought I was over it, but last night it reared its ugly head again (probably baby didn't like the onions in my hamburger or something). No puking, just heaving and queasiness all night. Just be happy you're one of the lucky ones, and if you DO feel a little queasiness or have an unfortunate trip to the bathroom, just make sure to drink lots of water, fruit juice (it brings up blood sugar without upsetting your tummy) and if you can handle it, nibble on some crackers. Hopefully, even if you get it this month, it won't be so bad and won't last too long.
