Just found out we're expecting twins!

Hi, mamas! We just found out on Monday that we're expecting twins! It's crazy to think that we'll be going from two kids to four in just several months! I just wanted to say hi, share our good news, and ask if you ladies have any good tips for a first-time mama of multiples?

We're still in shock over the news, but we're so thrilled as well!  :)

    Thank you all for the warm welcome! I'm so excited, but nervous too! I have SO many questions for my OB, but my first prenatal appt isn't for a few weeks yet. I'll try to keep my questions here to minimum, but I'm already bursting at the seams, wondering so many things! It's funny how your pregnancy can just turn on a dime like that, and be something so different from what you expected!

    Spend some time reading through old posts and you'll get some great information. I love this board. Everyone has been a huge help 

    Single Mother by Choice. Life didn't work out the way I planned so I did it on my own. IUI #s 1-3, unmedicated = BFN, IUI #s 4-6, 50mg Clomid, Ovidrel = BFN IVF #1: 23R, 20M, 17F. 5 day transfer 2 blasts. 2 Snowbabies BFP 6dp5dt, Beta #1 7dp5dt = 58, Beta #2 9dp5dt = 114, Beta #3 10dp5dt = 187 1st Ultrasound = 5/3, not much to see yet. 2nd Ultrasound = 5/17, TWINS!!! Hospital Bed Rest at 32 weeks due to pre-ecclampsia and severe edema. Audrey Grace, 5lbs9oz, & Lydia Louise, 6lbs, born via emergency c-section on 12/6/12 at 36w1d My IVF Journey

    Congratulations! We are also raising 2 already and are having twins in January. Reading thru old posts etc. has been so helpful and calming - definitely the right place to be - good luck to you!

    Congratulations!!!! I dont have advice yet but in the next week or so I should lol. Take care of yourself and take things easy, it is very different than a singleton pregnancy and a lot harder on your body so rest as much as you can and listen to your body.

    congrats and welcome!  Our boys are 2 and 4 so I know what you mean about going from 2 to 4.  We found out at the 20 week u/s, and I'm still getting used to the idea.  I feel like a new parent again. 

    Agree w/above about this pregnancy being a lot harder than a singleton.  I am having a lot of trouble keeping up w/my boys.   I was never even remotely this tired w/my 1st 2 pregnancies.

    Congrats and welcome! Right now just focus on listening to your body and rest as needed. There are some FAQs at the top with helpful info,this board is a great source of knowledge.

    Welcome and congratulations!  I don't have any advice yet as I am still baking my boys but I second listening to your body.  This is my first pregnancy so I don't have anything to compare to but I highly recommend putting your feet up with you can, listen to your body and don't over due it!

    I wish you a happy, healthy and boring pregnancy!

    DS1 born July 2002 (previous marriage).

    TTC since Oct 08. DH Dx w/testicular cancer March 09.
    MFI due to retrograde ejaculation/azoospermia.
    5/2 IVF #1 cancelled due to large follie.
    6/14 start Lupron for IVF #1.2. 6/22 start stims.
    7/4 ER and Biopsy.
    7/9 Transferred 2 (1-4BB and 1-3BB) embryos.  4 frosties.
    7/15 +HPT 6dp5dt. 7/18 Beta #1: 193. 7/20 Beta #2: 415.
    8/10 1st u/s - It's triplets!

    Twins are a blast! Congratulations!

     

    IUI #1 and #2 = BFN
    IVF#1 = BFN, no frosties

    IVF #2 = BFP!! TWINS!!! Born 3/9/12

    Congratulations!! I think having twins is the greatest and hardest thing in life. I will admit my twin boys are almost a year and this has been a great year for us. Raising twins can be difficult and challenging but embrace the experience. It is worth it, trust me.
