Thirsty and Bathroom all the time

Hello mama to bes.  I just wanted to vent/reach out and see if anyone else is experiencing going to the bathroom again and again.  I frequently have to go again right after I go.  I average about 5-10 times an hour sometimes. Also, I am soooo thirsty all the time and drink all the time which I know doesn't help the bathroom trips.

Re: Thirsty and Bathroom all the time

  • I'd call your doctor.  My first thought with having to pee that much is possibly a UTI.  Frequent peeing with thirst can also be a sign of diabetes.  Have you done  your GD tests yet?

  • I have Definately noticed a huge increase in thirst... Which is causing more bathroom stops. But I wouldn't say as frequent as you!

I was going to suggest both of these.

  • I agree re seeing your dr. I go to the bathroom a lot, but I would say not usually more than once an hour.

This.  It is normal to go a lot while pregnant, but I would say how much you are going is a bit excessive.  I'd be talking to my doctor.

  • I pee all the time!! night day etc, sometimes 5 times an hour no UTI, G Test fine, baby has been head down since 28 weeks, so maybe thats it, sometimes as soon as I pee I have to go right after again. Good luck :)

This - I would do a check for GD just to be on the safe side.

  • I have been sooooo thirsty. This obviously has me making many more trips to the bathroom. Id say close to every hour. I have been very annoyed with not feeling relief right away from going to the bathroom. It feels like I still have to go but about 10mins later the feeling seems to go away. So I'm just wondering if you really have to go to the bathroom or if your body just still thinks it does. I hope you can figure it out. I know how annoying it is to feel like you always have to go to the bathroom.
  • Leaning forward while you go might help some. It helps to fully empty your bladder. I'd still ask your Dr about it though, 510 times an hour is a lot!

  • While your doctor will know what do say/do, the above posts about diabetes may be something to inquire about-- but my first thought if you are not exaggerating about your thirst and peeing was diabetes INSIPIDOUS (sp??) which actually my brother-in-law has. It's NOT the same thing and isn't about glucose at all. What happened to him was, sudden thirst and constant peeing...until my sister made him go to the doctor. They sent him to a specialist immediately. Not to make you panic or anything, but that would be a very serious thing. I'd call your doctor to be on the safe side.

    edit: type of doctor
