3rd Trimester

what tricks can i use...

to bring on labor? ?i really truly do not want to seriously consider an induction although i have to come up with a date after the 16th for my next appointment. ?so, here's what i've come up with:

raspberry leaf tea (gag), sex (not a chance in hell), spicy foods, and walking.

what else??

  • Someone told me that massaging some part between foot & ankle will bring on contractions.  Don't know if it is true or not, but sounds like the best excuse for a pedicure I've ever heard!

    Good luck!

Soon to celebrate the day we met, even if the day before marks when we said goodbye.
  • I've tried fvcking everything! I feel nuts because I am just waiting and wondering and it's starting to drive me crazy:( I think my body forgot it was pregnant LOL. I need some tips to I've checked everything off the list you have:( boo
  • i am with you on the sex thing. i am so close that my MW says she thinks sex will put me in labor, and i STILL cant do it. last time it so incredibly painful, it was like losing my virginity times 10. no way in hell...

have you tried the EPO?? i have been taking it orally (2 capsules twice a day) and I'm going to start doing it vaginally tonight and see if that helps.

I dunno what else to try...

Mom to 2 beautiful girls, 3 yrs and 22 months old. My 2nd was born at 32 weeks due to Rhogam failure/severe complications from Rh disease and is our miracle. She has bilateral auditory neuropathy and a cochlear implant, activated 4/5/2012 at 19 months. Lilypie First Birthday tickers
  • eggplant parm and bouncy ball.
  • I have also heard of eating a shitload of freash pineapple, bouncing on the birthing ball and hours of nipple stim.
  • I've tried EVERYTHING (well, not castor oil, which I wouldn't do) and it's not working for me.  I think my baby is still cooking and I hope she decides she's done soon.  :)  GL!

I just bought it at the grocery store in the vitamin section. I'm sure all pharmacies would have it. It's supposed to "ripen your cervix" whatever that means. It comes in a capsule, and my MW said you can take it orally or vaginally. Not sure if one is more effective than the other, so I am going to try both.

  • I'm going to try the tea, and EPO to get some dilating going.  You can get the EPO at GNC, but I'm not sure where specifically to get RRL tea.  I couldn't find any at Target (probably pretty obviously) so I'm going in search of health food store after work.
  • I got my EPO at the health food store.

Also, I heard parsley can bring on pre-term labor, so I ate tabouleh for lunch. Its worth a shot!

Black and blue cohosh are also supposed to help, but I wouldn't do these without talking to your doctor first.

  • If you are breastfeeding, and purchased a breastpump already, you can use it to stimulate the nipples. I read this is one of the best ways to get contractions started...

  • I know a couple of people who have gone into labour within a day or two of a pedicure... I think it's the reflexology-like effect. Couldn't hurt!
