Need your advice please

My DD turns 1 on october 29 and I just found out today that my little sister, 13, has to have knee surgery that day!! If you were me would you get your birthday girl a sitter to be at the hospital or would you wait until your sister is home it's outpatient visit her then? Thanks!!

  • I would wait to see her. If you went to the hospital, you would just be sitting around the waiting room the whole time and may not even be able to see her right away. Wait until she gets home and is comfortable (she may be very tired still from being put under). In the mean-time, enjoy your DD's birthday !

  • I could go either way. I work though, so DD spent the day with her baby sitter and then we had dinner with cupcakes. She had her party over the weekend.
  • Of course. I don't mean to be insensitive about having a baby sitter come and watch her on her birthday. I'm sure most working moms had to do that anyway. I just wasn't planning to be away from her that day.

  • I would wait to see your little sister out of the hospital, maybe you can send her balloon and flowers on the day of surgery too.
  • I would wait. Most likely you will just be in the waiting room so I guess I wouldn't really see a point in going. And I'm sure your sister will definitely understand you visiting at home!

I was like you, I didn't want to be away from him!
