  Train sets, cars/trucks, DUPLO kits, peg puzzles, "beginner's" (4 wheel) scooter- if it's warm enough where you live to use it.

  DS's Christmas when he was 22 months: play kitchen, play fruits and veggies.  A shopping cart, a male baby doll, train paraphenalia, play tents, battery operated trains, a sit and spin, books, puzzles.  The kitchen and the trains were the biggest hits.

  My little man just turned 2 and we got him a play kitchen hes been playing with it a lot.

  But he LOVES matchbox/hot wheels cars, this is really the toy he plays with EVERYDAY, i got him a car carrying case for his b day and he LOVES it....its on wheels so it comes everywhere we go!

  Wooden puzzles (the Melissa and Doug ones are really nice), Lego Duplos.... DS is obsessed with Thomas the Train - so he got lots of that stuff.
