Looking for a Doula in Training for VBAC - Atlanta

Hi I am looking for a doula who is needing to attend births for their certification. Unfortunately a doula is not in our budge for but if a student is needing to attend births for their certification and can do so for free (and we have a good connection) I would really love the opportunity to have her share in the birth. This will be a VBAC for me (13mo after a C-section) so someone who is interested in that area of pregnancy or has their own personal experience in this area would be ideal.

  • I am in the same situation in WA and have found a few on doula match dot com.  You might check that out.  I tried contacting the local ICAN chapter but never got a response.  Maybe you will have better luck in ATL.  Good Luck!

  • I'm sure you've already found this (I googled), but you can contact any of these doulas who might charge and ask them if they know someone in training or who works on a sliding scale.  I found my doula by contacting a few others who were already booked at the time I needed one.

  • I VBAC'd with Intown Midwifery in Atlanta and I'd think they might be able to point someone in your direction. They've been instrumental in getting the Atlanta Birth Center going and probably have good connections. Good luck!
