Redness after potty training?

It's like my daughter has diaper rash, her labia are red and sore. She's had this a few times since potty training started two months ago. We wipe, she's not having accidents or sitting around damp clothes, and never and diaper rash when n her cloth diapers. I can't figure it out... Any ideas of what to do or what is is?

  • I have no idea, but the same thing has happened to DD a few times since we potty trained.  She never had diaper rash in her diapers as well.  It seems to be better now that she is wearing undies 24/7.  When she did have it, I put her in diapers at night with Desitin and it was gone the next day.

  • were they wearing pull ups?  my son gets a rash from pull ups and i've heard other moms say their kids did too.  mine son's is fine as long as he's in undies.  i guess they put something different in pull ups that is not as breathable.

  • The first bit while DD was most fully potty trained but still wore diapers at night it was crazy.  Her butt was covered in diaper rash!  I finally decided it was becuase her behind was drying out during the day wearing panties but then at night in her wet cloth diaper she was getting diaper rash becuase the skin was having a hard time adjusting back and forth.

Now that she wears no diapers at all her behind is pretty as the day she was born ;-)
