Hi new here... Not sure how much I fall into the AP category but I see you all post a lot about baby wearing and carriers. We have an ergo and the newborn insert. It works great and DS usually falls asleep in it. He's almost outgrown the insert which I'm thankful for cuz it is super hot for the both of us we're in Phoenix. I am wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a breathable, easy to use wrap or sling? I have a seven day sling that I don't care for cuz it's awfully hard for me to get DS in it properly.
Thanks in advance!
Re: Warm weather sling
Well, there's actually a great babywearing group in Pheonix - https://www.facebook.com/BWIPhoenix - so I'd head over to one of their meet ups and try some stuff out!
If you want a sling - a linen ring sling is a nice bet.
Mei tais are cooler than most buckle carriers IMO - the baby hawk is a nice easy to find one that's great for young infants.
Wraps - thin woven wraps or gauze wraps are great for the heat as are doing single layer carries (I have more details on this in my siggy link).
If you like the idea of buckles, there are buckle carriers that have mesh or solar veil panels to make them cooler - most notably kinder packs but there are others as well.
I'm sure the BWI Phoenix folks have lots of great hot weather carriers you could test drive!
