Has anyone tested positive with dollar store tests before testing positive with an FRER?

Hi everyone, I hope you don't mind me posting here because I'm not officially pregnant. I'm also not quite sure where to post this.

I have been trying to conceive for almost 2 years now, and have never seen a positive pregnancy test. I am 9 days past ovulation and have tested with 4 tests. 3 of the tests were dollar store tests and 1 was an FRER. 2 of the dollar store tests from yesterday had very faint lines that you could hardly see. The one I took this morning with FMU had a darker line that was quite visible. I got all excited and tested with a first response 5 day sooner test and it was negative. I took it out of its case and I thought I may of seen something but I think it's just because I took it out of the case.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Did you have positives on cheap tests before the expensive first response test? I'm quite confused.

I got positives on the dollar tree tests and double checked it with a digital. All positive!!

I tested positive with a dollar store test before taking a frer but frer showed up right away when I went out and got one later that day. Were the lines pink that showed u on your dollar store test and how long did it take to show up? Good luck hope you are pregnant!

I rarely buy expensive tests. I used dollar store tests with all of my pregnancies and have gotten accurate results. If you read them after about 5 minutes, though, a positive line will appear on most of them. Good luck!

The line showed up right away. I just find it weird that the FRER is negative.

I also got a positive 7 days early on a dollar store test with DD2, but didn't get a positive with FRER until the day AF was due. Are you late? If not, wait a few days and try again. Good luck!

ETA: I just re-read your OP. I would give it a few days and try again at maybe 13-14dpo.

I have tested on a dollar store cheapy at 8pm 9 dpo and had a positive result. I love the dollor store brand. It has never failed me.

I did, got a positive on the dollar store test (very faint line) no line on a First Response until the next day.

I got my BFP on dollar store cheapo's. I couldnt believe in and because im addicted to POAS I went and bought a digital and it came back pregnant. Because Im an addict I would be testing everyday until I got a bfp on the FRER too

I have nothing to add sorry! because I'm still ttc. But I just thought I'd mention that I am mad I never thought to use dollar store tests! Especially because they seem pretty accurate! This could be the fiscal cure for my testing addiction. :

I used the grocery store and Target generic brands. The first time, I followed up with a digital, but I didn't feel the need this time.

I got my BFPs 13 days DPO this time, and about 21 days DPO last time.

I got a BFP on a FRER with FMU, then later that day around noon, I took two Dollar Store tests to confirm (I had them, so why not) and got BFPs on those, too.

I tested positive with a dollar store test before my missed period. Then I double checked a few days later with a digital.

Yeah, my first pregnancy I got a positive on a cheapie and a digi before I got a positive on a FRER. Give it a few days and try again, but if you're getting multiple clear positives on the cheapies that show up right away I would say you're probably pregnant. Congrats!

I took another dollar store test this morning and there was a very faint line, but it wasn't as dark as the one that I took yesterday. It's still very early, so who knows. I guess only time will tell.

I got a negative on a $1 test at 11DPO and then a positive on a FRER at 12DPO. If you're 9DPO it might just be too early for some tests. Keep testing with FMU until you get a definite BFP or AF.

Hmm ... FRERs are pretty sensitive. I'd personally trust the FRER over a cheapie test, but maybe try a digital in a few days and see what it says?

I checked out your chart and it looks great...Also i did see the lines on all 3 of your tests! I would say your pregnant!

That is what I thought, but I looked it up and the FRER I used is 25miu and the dollar store test I used was also 25miu, so idk. I'm not going to get excited until I see a dark line.

I was only 2 days late and tested on the dollar tree one and honestly got the brightest positive I have every seen out of all of my kids and I used the pricier ones with them as well as tested weeks later. So I must say stay at dollar tree because the others are a waste of money.
