like a crazy lady and before you should?

If you aren't insane (like me) how many DPO do you usually test?

I'm just curious about how the normal people do it.

On a regular cycle I usually start testing at 10dpo but there have been a few times where I started at 9dpo and some proud moments where I held out until 12dpo! Stick out tongue

But with my upcoming IVF...no way in H-E- Double hockey sticks am I testing before beta day (I already have plans with DH that we'll both take off work that day, I'll test at home before the blood draw, only so we don't have to get the news via a phone call from a stranger, and either we'll cry in bed all day or we'll go out and celebrate!).

I was instructed call my Dr. as soon as I get a BFP. I laughed at her when she said "missed period" and told her I was an early tester. She said that was A-OK by her. So I basically have Doctor's Orders to give in to my crazy Big Smile

I say that I'm going to wait until AF is late to test, but I'm never able to hold out. My LP is usually 11-12 days, so I always convince myself it's ok to test at 10 dpo b/c it's only 1 day early. Ha!

I try to hold out until at least 10 dpo. With my last BFP I tested at 10 with a negative then again at 12 and got a positive...but I still have a hard time not going POAS crazy! I know seeing a BFP is hard for some people, but I would rather see it than wonder what I would see if I tested...totally nutty!!!

haha, my dr. said something like this too! When I got the green light to TTC again, she was like if your period is late, take a pregnancy test, and call me if it's positive. I was like HA! if you only knew...

I try to hold out until 12DPO. I have only managed once, ironically the cycle I got a BFP. I usually break down around 10DPO.

my first bfp I tested the whole week leading up to getting my bfp. I didn't know as much then. I know now that that BFP was 10dpo which is about as early as it gets so I try to wait until at least then

I used to start testing like crazy at 9dpo.... but now that i've been down this road so many times, I usually wait until the day before or the day AF is supposed to arrive...

I'm a crazy person myself, I always say I'll wait until 12 DPO. Usually, I cave at 9DPO. I have no idea why, I know it's waaaayyyy to early. I just can't stop myself.

I'll probably start as early as 8dpo because I am insane. Plus I have a bunch of cheapie tests and I know I won't be able to resist. I got my last BFP at 8dpo though...

I start testing at 10dpo, except this cycle when I tested at 9 thinking it was 10. My LP is short and AF usually arrives by 11 or 12 dpo.

I always tell myself I'm going to wait until AF is late... but that never happens. Like a few of the other PPs, I have a shorter LP. At least based off of this cycle that is true. Since it's my first cycle charting, who knows if that's the case normally - but I have shorter overall cycles so it would make sense. Anyway, usually I test a day or two (or four Embarrassed

Control?...What is this word "control'? I have none. I am obsessed with peeing on things. I always have high hopes I will have some control. But I give in starting around day 9 dpo.

I'm glad that you asked this, because I have been thinking about it.

Before I joined this board, I had no idea that people POAS so frequently or even before their missed period. I don't mean this in an offensive way, I was just naive to everything that goes into it.

I have taken only a few pregnancy tests in my life. One was my BFP before the loss, and the others were a couple of "scares" (sorry don't like that word) before we got married.

My period has never been delayed (maybe a day, but no more). So if it was late, I knew.

But onto the topic at hand, I am way too frightened to POAS before AF is due. I just can't do it. I am too afraid to see a BFN. I'm sure it isn't rational, but it's just how I operate. I figure that as soon as I take a test, AF will come and I will feel silly for thinking I was going to get a BFP.
