I voted for strainer, because I refer to it as a strainer more often... but I also call it a colander... it depends on my mood I guess

This. Strainer popped into my head first, so that's how I voted. But I've also used colander.

Depends on my audience. Being married to a chef and having been in culinary school, it's sometimes called a colander. But at home, we use the strainer!
