Yay! We had our first home visit this afternoon and overall, I think it went really well. We seemed to have a good connection with our social worker, and after the inital awkward jitters (mostly on my part!) we settled into a nice conversation.
Thanks to everyone for your well-wishes! And thanks for the good advice to not stress too much on the house cleaning part of it. She did a fairly quick walk-through, and mostly complemented us on our ongoing reno of our old house. Whew! I was worried that having 2 upstairs rooms basically "under construction" would be a problem, but she didn't seem phased by it.
We have our second visit next week. Keeping fingers crossed that it goes as well as today's visit.
