We've done our research and picked out a few possible infant and then convertible car seats to check out in person. Even if we pick which one we like best, how do we know it will fit well in our midsize car?

Re: Car seats / midsize car
Many baby stores will let you "borrow" the floor model to try it out in your car. But just to be sure, call the store(s) beforehand to double-check their policy. Most places will ask for your drivers license as a deposit, and one of the staff will go out to the parking lot w/you to try on the car seat.

This is exactly what I was hoping for! All I want to be able to do is run it out to the car to see how it fits (generally speaking) and then bring it back in. Awesome.
I've done that at both BRU and BBB. I personally prefer that because I know that *I* can comfortably install it, not just that some tech somewhere made it work lol!
