My husband and I are having our first child and have been asked by my GYN to pick our hospital of choice for delivery. We are not from NC and have only been in CLT for 2yrs and luckily have not needed to use any hospitals until now!
Can anyone recomend which hospital, CMC main or Presbyterian Elizabeth, for my first delivery would be the best, safest, better NICU, and higher rated in terms of maternity ward care please?
Greatly appreciated and thank you!!!!

Re: Trying to pick hospital in Charlotte to deliever 1st baby. CMC main vs Presbyterian Elizabeth area??
Had my son at CMC Main and had a terrible experience. After having nurses answering some of my questions with "I don't know", my son being circumcised at 10:30 pm because nurses kept losing his paperwork (was supposed to be 9a.m.) and to top it all off, we were discharged at 3 a.m, Yes, you read right. 3 o'clock in the morning, I would tell you not to be fooled at the tour. It is a beautiful hospital, buy the staff is definitely below par. Also, they didn't put a security anklet on my son until the night before we were discharged. When I asked why it wasn't put on earlier they told me they had too many babies and not enough anklets. They were unprofessional, uncaring, and it made for a really scary first experience. I hope you have a great birth experience, just tour both hospitals before deciding on CMC Main. Good Luck!
CMC Pineville is one of the best Maternity hospitals in Charlotte. Their rooms are amazing in a comfortable suite style (and private!). You don't have seperate delivery rooms, so no moving around. They also have a great NICU facility with private rooms for the parents. It is a level 3 NICU.
Hope you find the hosptial for you!
