Those who CD

What kind of CD's do you use?

We have been using BG 4.0's, and Freetimes so far. They seem to work best. We tried Fuzzibunz and Rumparooz and they just didn't fit well. The FB constantly leaked, even if I stuffed them with both inserts. The RAR were just plain bulky in the front.

I have a skinny baby and the BG's seem to fit well. Not too bulky and not many leaks. I'm always looking for new brands to try. So any recommendations would be great! TIA

Re: Those who CD

  • We use Bamboo Baby. It is a Canadian company. I was having lots of leaking issues so I bought some liners and have been putting those in with our AIOs and have been having much greater success.
It is a game of trial and error I think. I am worried that what is now working for S may not work for future babies like I had planned!

  • we use mostly fuzzibunz and don't have leaks. Did you adjust the inside elastics?

we also have a bunch of alvas - they are cheap and some grovias

  • Most of ours are Grovia.  We use the AI2's and AIO's.  Love them!

  • We have prefolds and Thirsties covers, Swaddlebees Simplex 2.0, Happy heineys, BG Freetimes, one FB one size Elite, and I have a couple of Bumkins AIO's. Honestly I like the BGFreetimes the best so far. I have even been ising them overnight with a hemp doubler and haven't had a leak yet. Seems like the HH leak the most. I like the Swaddlebees and the Thirsties covers a lot too. I really want a couple of the thirsties AIOs too.

  • I like BG 4.0s a lot, but one of my other favorites are swaddlebee simplex AIOs.

  • Thanks everyone! Those who mentioned multiple different CD's, which one do you like best and why?

Yes, I have adjusted the elastics and tried stuffing them with both inserts. No luck. She seems to leak out at the legs within an hour of putting that diaper on her.

  • Fuzzibunz have been the only diaper we've tried that I've actually hated. There were some that were just "meh", but FB flat out sucked for us.

Our favorites are BG 4.0 and Applecheeks. If you like the 4.0s so much, I'd give AC a try :) Their leg and butt gussets are great!

  • We do prefolds with flip covers, flips and BG 4.0 for overnight. I like them all.  We also have one Kawaii, but have leak issues.  I have a mother ease, but I don't tend to go for that one very much.  It had been too big for LO for a while, but it would probably fit him now.

Recently I've been having problems with leaks in the BG 4.0 during the night.  I don't think it's absorbancy; I think it's fit. LO is starting to sleep on his side and it's coming out the leg.  I've been playing around with the rise and snap settings to get a snugger fit.  His legs are on the skinnier side.

I've been considering looking into fitteds, in case this problem continues. The CD board seems to have a lot of people who use fitteds for overnight.

We have two velcro BG that we use only at night because I couldn't get a good fit with snaps either (but much prefer snaps overall). My LO sleeps on his side and belly a lot.

Fitteds with covers are awesome. I will use them more once it cools down with wool footies. Right now we use fitteds without covers all the time at home to let his bum breathe. With a good fitted, you can go 3 hours without a cover and be just fine. My faves are Sassy Bumz, Tangerine Baby, BagShot Row Bamboo and Baby Ten.
