Nothin' like a little classic Salt n' Pepa to get some attention!

Am I the only lady on this board that has not really DTD since LO was born? I have tried twice and it hurt so bad I was reduced to tears... *not sexy*. I feel TERRIBLE for DH. How did y'all get over the hump? (pun intended).

Same here, except we haven't even tried yet! Between BFing keeping my drive down and the fact that we're living with my parents (our bedroom is RIGHT under theirs) and not super happy about that, we really haven't had much of a desire to yet... I'm looking forward to finally having our own place for this, amongst other, reasons.

Are you breastfeeding? Did you tear or have an episiotomy?

DH and I resumed having sex at three weeks postpartum. With a generous amount of lube and/or foreplay it has been just fine - still a little tender, but I'm still breastfeeding. But if that's painful I'd probably call my doctor to find out what's going on. I'm sorry you're dealing with it.

Really? I think my husband would be, well, less than pleasant. I waited about a month, maybe just short of. It was uncomfortable at first but not horrible at all. I figure the longer you wait, the more of a wedge it could possibly cause between you and your h.

I'm right in the same boat as you OP..Twice and it hurt like crazy! The last time, though I realized that it takes some time to warm up and also a little bit psychological, don't get me wrong its also physically painful, but as soon as I let my body relax a little and not anticipate all that pain..it got easier. ( I had to visualize something relaxing and pleasant to get over the initial pain.

We've had sex maybe 6 times since DS. We're limited position wise, though. TMI, but rear entry is really painful for me. It almost seems too tight for that. I'm sure it is because of the tear I had. It wasn't big or bad, but I can definitely tell a difference.

My desire hasn't been very great, but it has gotten better.

I wouldn't feel bad, though. One friend of mine didn't have sex through her entire pregnancy, and they had to do IUI, so really since before her pregnancy, and since her baby was born... 9 months ago. Someone else I know went 2 years, with her pregnancy included.

We waiting until exactly 5 weeks PP. Can't say that I enjoyed it, but DH did!

Even my OB (who is a man) highly recommends lube. He even recommended the "Adam and Eve brand".

Ditto the lube! We've done it 3 times since DD was born. It's been ok, but each time gets better.

Yup, lots and lots of lube!

We first did it at about 5 weeks pp and do it about 1-2 times a week on average. The first few times weren't that enjoyable, but every time it's gotten better and in the past month or so I've started to enjoy it again.

I will have to be sure to tell my DH that he is apparently a VERY lucky man.

I still have not tried either. I had a second degree tear and am terrified that it will be painful since it took me awhile to heal (9 weeks). My OB told me to use lots of lube, and when I think I have used enough to apply even more!

I had a hard time at 6 weeks, and used lots of lube. It was very uncomfortable until somewhere just before 3 months. Now I'm not uncomfortable, I'm just entirely disinterested. Everything just feels completely different. It's like I don't know my body anymore.

We have not and DH is not happy about it but I'm so tired and busy as LO doesn't sleep though the night I'd rather be sleeping. I had third degree tears and an episiotomy and took me quite a while to heal so I'm nervous to try.

Thank you girls for not being too judgy... I also had two wicked second degree tears and the OB says I have some scar tissue from them. I am going back to see him next week to see what he recommends because married life can't go on like this.

we tried once, last week, and it was a big ol fail. we had to stop, it hurt too much. and i had a csection! i didn't think i'd have this problem
