  It's kind of a joke between he and I because we went for a vacation to Toronto and were amazed that the whole town smelled like maple syrup, the ketchup tasted like it and even the pop did. The poutine probably doesn't, but it's just something we joke about. He thinks it is awesome and doesn't understand why it isn't sold in the US widely.

   

  Even a minor event in the life of a child is an event of that child's world and thus a world event.

  Haha, as a Canadian I am so confused. What is Patoon? Is that where poutine is sold or is that what it's called in the States? And why did everything taste like maple syrup?

  I hope this didn't come off as insulting, I didn't mean it that way at all. I spelled poutine wrong, that was my bad, it's not sold in the states typically so I was trying to sound it out.  But with the ketchup when we looked at the back it actually had maple syrup as one of the ingredients, and our imagination may have taken us from there with everything else.
