NBR: Update on the bearded dragon (lots of PIP)

So, I'm thinking he's doing much better now in his new environment. He's been more active, I actually saw him eat two mornings in a row now, and we've even tried him on some veggies, which he apparently loves.

Here's his new set-up:

Re: NBR: Update on the bearded dragon (lots of PIP)

  • He is adorable!  I love beardies!  He is a handsome fella.  They do love their veggies too.  Plus they are so cute to watch munching away. I worked at a zoo for a few years out of college.   Majored in animal sciences.  The reptiles were my favorite animals to work with on a daily basis. (my husband thinks I am a weirdo!)

  • Aww, It doesn't matter what kind of animal it is, if you have it for that long of course you're going to get attached!  Our rabbit lived for 12 years and I was a wreck when he died :'( He was like a puppy, he ran free in the living room and slept in his cage at night and was litter trained and everything!

Also, I don't want to see your daughter's hoo hoo. Pants are a must when posting pictures of your kids.

Um, ok wow. I have a laundry basket of random stuff that hadn't gotten put away yet. Big deal. Also, she was wearing a night gown AND panties, you can't see her "hoo hoo."

Oh okay you're house is clean besides laundry. So, then this picture from HDBD wasn't taken in your house?

  • There's nothing wrong with the cleanliness of my house. A bit of clutter here and there in my own bedroom is not indicative of the condition of the rest of my house. I don't have to justify it to anyone, and if all you can do is nit-pick the background of a couple pictures and judge me solely on that, well, whatever. Don't look. Or, if it bothers you that much, come over and clean it for me because obviously you have much higher standards than I do of what everyone's house should look like.

Awww, that last picture is great! I used to have an iguana. I miss her :o[ I got her when she was tiny and had her for 8 years. She was almost 5 feet long when we gave her to someone who could give her the attention she needed. I used to take her out a few days a week and let her hang on the couch or roam around the kitchen, but with a puppy a a baby that wasn't possible anymore. I felt silly how attached I was to a lizard.

I had an iguana, too! They're awesome!!

    Your bearded dragon is cute.

However, I have to agree that I would not want pics of my child on the interwebs with his or her crotch visible in panties-only, particularly because you cannot control who sees or steals said pics. Remember the poster with the boyfriend who is a child porn addict?

  • I actually am not familiar with that poster or the situation with the child porn. I apologize for still not seeing anything terribly wrong with the picture I posted, but point duly noted for the future.

Also, there is nothing wrong with your house. Mine is a disaster. You should feel good about yours.

FWIW, I'm not a perv.  Not in the least.  Also, I was just trying to protect you and your child by pointing it out.  Next time I'll keep my mouth shut and allow you to make those decisions blindly.  You're welcome in advance.

You must have missed my post before that one where I said the point was taken and will be considered during future pic posts.

  • I wouldn't call WorkinWeezel a perv. I'd call her a good parent! There are perverts everywhere, and I would never put a pic of my daughter in her underwear anywhere on the Internet. I think she was politely telling OP that it might be a bad idea. Oh, and having a disaster for a house just makes you a lazy slob in my book...

Honestly, I can't even SEE her panties, and she's wearing a nightgown. It's not like she's standing and posing just wearing panties. My OP was to highlight the bearded dragon, so I guess my real beef is that all of a sudden someone, who has never posted on this board before, makes a comment on my house and my daughter. I can't see how two pictures pin me as a lazy slob, if you think that's a disaster, you've never seen a real disaster.

I also did not put WW down, I took the point and will keep it in mind for future reference. Which I repeated again in my last reply.

I meant to quote this under Old_Time_Girl's comment. She was the one who was rude to WorkinWeezel, and she called her own house a disaster.

"The person who has never posted on this board before" is an AE.  (alter ego, aka, a made up s/n for someone who most likely does post on the board and uses the AE to post snarky comments that they don't want to post under their own s/n)

If that's the case, then it's as good as never posting here if no one is supposed to know who she is for real. My point still stands. And if you can't say something yourself and have to hide behind an AE, maybe you should rethink saying it. BTW, maybe I'm just not that perceptive, but how do you know when it's an AE or not? I've never felt the need to make up an AE for anything, so what's the tip-off?

I remember that AE from the TTGP board.  AE's specifically only come out to snark and nothing else.  When they want to post regular stuff they use their real screen name.

    A) You can't see anything in the picture, and I think people are looking way too hard.

    B) We just moved from out 1900 square foot house into a 1200 square foot trailer. I have stuff I don't know what to do with everywhere until I can sort it, sell it, or give it to Goodwill. Yup, my house is a disaster because of it. Sorry I don't meet your standards.

  • Haha I love that last pic!
