I know exactly what you mean. . .well, maybe not exactly since I don't ever remember to sing The Unicorn, but when DS gets grumpy in the car we sing to him and if we get through all the songs we have to start over (if it's not just a quick jaunt), which gets really old. I'll have to try to remember The Unicorn. He's so sick of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, that used to be his favorite. He's starting to get sick of Six Little Ducks too.
I've just recently started singing the alphabet and Jude thinks it's soooo funny! Sometimes I growl the letters to him, which makes the ABCs even more hilarious.
And word...If I have to sign itsy bitsy spider again...
Holy crap, tell me about it! Itsy Bitsy Spider is the only song that will calm DS down when he's fighting sleep. DH and I have to sing it over and over again until he falls asleep. Ugh.

The only songs that I know all of the words to are church songs and Christmas songs! DS is going to end up a really confused kid, since DH and I are atheist...
I, too, love Christmas songs. My mom used to sing them to us as bedtime songs all year long. In Califormia. She was so young, they were the only songs she knew all the words to that were "kid appropriate." LOL.

Re: Reason #40353 I love Christmas
I resorted to Christmas songs in September! I am determined to choreograph a dance to Jingle Bells with Jude by Christmas!! hahah

It's an Irish song.
