thick cervical mucous?

i'm 6.5 months pp, and for the last month or so i've been having very tick jelly like discharge, where i need a pad sometimes.  it started with little bits of what looked like tissue in the toliet.  I'm still BF, haven't had a period yet.  Theres no odor, its just yellowy white and very mucousy.  Sometimes I can literally pull it out.....should I see a dr or what??? nobody seems to be able to answer the question.  sorry TMI!  oh the joys of post partum recoveries.

Re: thick cervical mucous?

  • Well what you are describing could be fertile cervical mucus too.  So be aware.  Look up egg white cervical mucus....it usually comes before you ovulate, a few days.  Call your dr. though if you are concerned and it is happening all of the time..  Does it have a smell to it?  If it smells it is definitely something to be checked out.

  • I've had the had the same problem and I'm 14 months PP. I take Loestrin 24 FE, so I wonder if that has something to do with it... I have not had a period at all after giving birth via c-section. I only breast fed for 4 months. I know the birth control I am on can stop periods, but why do I still have this heavy mucus? It has no odor, it's just there and it's annoying.
