Good morning!  Well, I think my siggy makes it obvious that I'm a big Doctor Who fan.  I love British television! I like Doctor Who because it's somehow relevant for all ages -- kids and adults both like it.  It's full of action and entertainment, quirky, and you really do get drawn into the characters.  And I love it because The Doctor has such a huge, huge heart for all living creatures and he never once uses violence or weapons and the idea of anyone dying breaks his heart, and even when facing an enemy trying to kill him, he tries to find a way to save the enemy too.

Uh...favorite TV show...I've never missed an episode of Grey's Anatomy. I think it's because I work in nursing at a large teaching hospital (like the show), and while it's sooooooo over the top and very inaccurate, I can't seem to pull myself away after what, 8 years now?

  • DH and I recently watched the Lorax and LOVED it. We also kept thinking the whole time that we couldn't wait to buy it for our future foster kids. Which actually prompted a long discussion about movies we want to buy before they come :)

  • Favorite TV Shows:

19 Kids and Counting - Yes, I am a Duggar fan, I think they are incredibly kind people and I like how gentle and sweet the show is.

The Middle - The parents remind me so much of my parents, and I pretty much was Sue.

Vampire Diaries - Super-hot brothers that are vampires, plus werewolves, hybrides, witches, etc.

    Favorite Movies:

You've Got Mail - It's just so sweet and I love Tom Hanks

Clue - Hilarious wordplay, love all the actors

Men In Tights - I can quote almost the whole movie.  Oddly, this is the only Mel Brooks film I like.

  • There are only two shows I watch regularly as they air (or a few days after):

The Good Wife - I love this show because the original concept was something that always intrigued me:  why do wives of politicians stay with their cheating husbands?  I love the show now because the characters are extremely well developed (there are a lot of really strong women), and the cases they cover are really interesting takes on current legal events.  Oh, and I get my political fix, too; and

Parenthood - I don't know why, but this show just captures me.  I think they tackle a lot of great issues, even if they simplify a lot.  Still, it's always good for a 60-minute emotional ride.

Other shows I love, and watch on Netflix (so I'm a season behind) are Army Wives (I cried my way through almost every single episode of the first season; thankfully they let up after that a bit and I only cried during some of them), Grey's Anatomy, and Desperate Housewives.

I also am a complete and utter M*A*S*H fan, and own the complete series, which has been watched over and over and over again.

Movies are much harder, but I love Roman Holiday and ever rendition of The Hunchback of Notre Dame ever made.

  • I'm a Big Bang fan, and a sucker for reality variety shows-- ie X-Factor etc.

Currently, my partner and I are rewatching the entire 8 seasons of the West Wing.

  • Huge Big Bang fan. I might own all the seasons and watch them a little too much.

2 broke girls is beyond hilarious

The new show Revolution is peeking my interest.

I will be honest and say I have a TV obsession.I DVR so many shows. They are great to watch in the middle of the night while feeding a baby. Most are too embarrassing to list. *cough* Jersey Shore *cough*

Movies: The Help, The Thomas Crown Affair,  anything with Tom Hanks, Steel Magnolias, He's just not that into you. I could go on for awhile.

  • We are watching Friday Night Lights right now through Amazon Prime.  LOVING IT!

As far as current TV, we really like New Girl and Community.

  • My favorites:

Parenthood : Family drama! Funny, sweet, and emotional.

Modern Family :  Oh, so hilarious. I wish I could get DH to watch this show with me.

30 Rock : This was my "Scrubs" replacement show. So off-the-wall! Great writing, and totally quotable, which I love. :)

Once Upon a Time : Super cheesy, but I still love this show. Lots of fairy tales all combined into a single show... it's fun to try to figure out how the writers are going to work details of the fairy tales into the plot lines.
