hello, gals. I had my HSG yesterday (Oct 15) cycle day 13 (a bit worried whether it is too late). My cycle is normally 28days-31days (I used to be very on time 28 days before I had a chemical pregnancy last Dec). The first day of period is Oct 3, and it took 8 days to finish!
I had cramps during the test, boy, thats a lot of pain! and bleeding after it, but today seems stopped.
I took an ovulation kit yesterday, the 2nd line was very light. I assume I will ovulate couple days later.
So now I am wondering how many days I should wait to try the baby? maybe tomorrow?
Re: how long should I wait to get conceived after HSG?
Im not familiar with HSGs, so as long as it's ok to have sex afterwards, keep using OPKs until your test line is as dark or darker than the control line.
When you get a positive, hump it out.
You certainly don't HAVE to wait.. Sex
doesn't just have to be for babymaking, but your chances are best if you time it with a positive OPK.
My RE didn't mention anything about abstaining from sex afterwards, and I forgot to ask. I had mine done on CD 9, and I waited 2 days to have sex again just to give my body a rest. I did not have any bleeding.
You can always put a call into your RE and ask.
Also a July 2013 Mom!
I'm just all sorts of confused about this line. How do you "try a baby"?

I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that English is not your first language. Either that, or you were really tired or something.
I can't help with the HSG part. However, the bolded above was an incorrect assumption. Having a light line means nothing. It certainly does not mean that you will ovulate a couple of days later. You could have already had your LH surge. Or maybe you haven't yet. You'll need to keep using them, perhaps a few times a day.

I couldn't stop laughing when I saw the title.... and thought exactly this. Plus an image of a woman being conceived in a baby....
Married October 2009. Me 29 H 28.
After 1 year of infertility, our little miracle was conceived via our 3rd IUI on May 5, 2013.
Holland Sophia was born Jan 24, 2014.
I conceived the same month as I had my HSG done. I had the HSG done on CD9, ovulated on CD15 and got pregnant.
Also if you had a light line on your OPK, it's not positive. Once the test line is as dark as the control line, that is positive and you should ovulate 12-48 hours after that.

My RE asked us to wait a normal period as I had some bleeding kind of a mini period after HSG.
On the positive side he said Fertility increases after an HSG test as minor dead cell blockages are flushed out in the test.
